Tips for Resume Writing Make name large and bold Contact info should not take up a lot of space Objective – be specific Summary of Skills – good to have if lacking experience and you have relevant skills Use a professional looking font (clean, simple) Headings should be Bold and stand out Minimize “white space” Use bullets and make sure they all line up Dates should line up with right margin
Work / Volunteer Experience Job Title Employer’s name, Location date(s) Use point form to list a couple duties and always begin with an “power word” Try to list achievements not just duties performed (ex. Responsible for training 8 new employees over 6 months)
