Appeasement Definition: Giving into an aggressor to keep peace. Who: France, Great Britain, and Germany What: At the Munich Conference, France and Great Britain gave Germany the Sudetenland.

Non-Aggression Pact Who: Germany (Hitler) and Soviet Union (Stalin) What: The Soviet Union and Germany secretly made a pact not to attack one another and to divide Poland between them. When: August 1939

Blitzkrieg Definition: A new kind of “lighting war.” This concentrated on putting airplanes and tanks in strategic locations to break through enemy lines. Who: Germany used this method in Poland. September 1, 1939=WWII begins.
