IMPACT SAMR Cover Sheet Teacher: Stephanie Fusilier Louisiana Math Standard (include description): 8.EE.C Analyze and solve linear equations and pairs of simultaneous linear equations. 7. Solve linear equations in one variable b. solve linear equations with rational number coefficients, including equation whose solutions require expanding expressions using the distributive property and collecting like terms. Task Overview Learning Objective(s) Suggested Technology Classes will play against each other in a Kahoot challenge. Solve linear equations in one variable. Internet ready device. You will be writing your own equations for the other members of the class to solve. You will be creating QR codes to check the answers for the equations. Computer, laptop, or ipad with internet capabilities. You will use the online book to take a self check quiz. Computer with access to the internet Solving multi step equations then scan QR codes to check. Student will need a device that has a QR app to scan QR codes REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. transformation MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. enhancement SUBSTITUTION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with no real change.

Multi step equations with QR codes. Solving multi step equations then scan QR codes to check. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Students will be working with a partner for this activity. Solve the equations on your paper and get your answer. Check and correct with your partner. Do this for all provided equations. When you and your partner have completed all problems you can get an ipad and scan the QR codes to check your answers. If you have any incorrect answers, go back and rework the problem and fix your steps This task uses: Student will need a device that has a QR app to scan QR codes Learning Objective(s): Solve linear equations in one variable TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/email: Stephanie.fusilier@cpsb.org School: MBMS Louisiana State Standard: 8 EE.C 7B Grade Level/Subject: math 8 Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Prerequisites for students:

A Self Check quiz. Log into your account for the online book. You will use the online book to take a self check quiz. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Log into your account for the online book. Find the chapter 2 lesson 2 self check quiz. Complete the self check quiz and check it. This task uses: Computer with access to the internet Learning Objective(s): Solve linear equations in one variable. M Creating QR codes You will be writing your own equations for the other members of the class to solve. You will be creating QR codes to check the answers for the equations. MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable Students may work in pairs to complete this activity. You will be writing your own equations for the other members of the class to solve. You will be creating QR codes to check the answers for the equations. You and your partner must come up with 6 multi step equations. You must write them down and solve them on your paper. When you have your equations and answers, You and your partner will create Qr codes for the answers to your equations. Print out the QR codes. Use an index card and write down 1 equation. Glue the QR code with the answer to the card also. Repeat for all 6 equations. This task uses: Computer, laptop, or ipad with internet capabilities. Learning Objective(s): Solve linear equations in one variable. Teacher’s name/email: Stephanie.fusilier@cpsb.org School: MBMS Louisiana State Standard: 8 EE.C 7B Grade Level/Subject: math 8

R Kahoot About It The class will break up into teams of 4. Classes will play against each other in a Kahoot challenge. REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable The class will break up into teams of 4. Teams will be playing against each other as well as teams form the other math class. Teams will be answering questions using Kahoot. This task uses: Internet ready device. Learning Objective(s): Solve linear equations in one variable. Teacher’s name/email: Stephanie.fusilier@cpsb.org School: MBMS Louisiana State Standard: 8 EE.C 7B Grade Level/Subject: math 8
