Statement of Philosophy Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management Program Management

Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management The field of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management provides the public with quality opportunities that are representative of the diverse recreation interests that people possess. The goal of this field is to educate individuals on ways to experience nature, increase their physical well-being, build community relationships, and improve their overall quality of life. Implementation of beneficial services can stimulate economic development, increase environmental awareness, and promote positive values to individuals from all walks of life.

Program Management Program management is centered around the ability to meet the various program needs of the public through sound leadership, appropriate program planning and design, and human relations services. The field of program management requires a deep understanding of individual opinions in order to provide inclusive services and make decisions that fully address the community expectations. Providing direction and creating a positive environment for people to participate in are essential to program management success.
