Administrative Data Agenda Item 2: Task force on the use of administrative data for short-term economic statistics
Introduction Established 2004 STESWP meeting, an outline of the tasks and proposed framework finalised during 2005 meeting. 2006 meeting incorporated new comments from countries (second framework) and proposed a wrap-up date of STESWP 2007.
Framework Overview Is in fact two frameworks: 1. Broad administrative data categories; and, 2. Using administrative data. Framework 1 provides users with all available (80) administrative data papers via a logical framework. Framework 2 provides users with a guide to utilising administrative data sources via a framework of relevant links.

The New Framework: Using Administrative Data Agreed on at the 2006 STESWP meeting by the task force. Aimed at: NSO’s looking to utilise administrative data for the first time NSO’s investigating the possibility of using administrative data sources more fully in short-term economic statistics

Country comments General agreement with layout and design features. Only one proposed name – Framework of using Administrative Data(?). Future updating is the issue – regular calls for papers proposed. Countries support promoting the framework.
