Fundraising Report A SMART INVESTMENT What better way to keep track of your Soroptimist investments than to see, hear and/or read about how your financial support is making an impact. Here are two results: (from a 2006-2007 Live Your Dream Awards recipient from the United States) “Most importantly, I can be independent, never again putting myself in a position to feel ‘stuck’ in an unhealthy, abusive situation. I now have a means to support myself and my family and hope that my children will see that education is the key that unlocks many doors to freedom, to opportunity, to happiness”   (from a Dream It, Be It participant) “The most important thing that will help me achieve my dreams is someone that takes the journey with me.” We’ll be hearing more about our Dream Program from Governor-Elect Kris this afternoon and how our financial support to these programs makes a huge impact in improving the lives of women and girls and their families. What are our investment options?

1st Option 1st Option - Club Giving Club giving supports and enhances the life-changing Dream Programs of Soroptimist by educating the women and girls that they have choices and opportunities awaiting them. They no longer need to live in poverty, they will be less vulnerable to sex traffickers, they will be brave enough to leave a domestic violence situation, and they will be able to access state and federal assistance. By giving 10% of your fundraising efforts to SIA, we can continue our investment to reach out to women and girls around the world who face extreme challenges. The other 90% allows you to continue investing in your programs locally. So, remember Invest 10% to global challenges and invest 90% to your local communities. So, what are the benefits for clubs? 1. Every club that gives a contribution will receive A certificate A badge of honor for their website Recognition on the club giving page of the SIA website 2. Every club that gives a 10% contribution to SIA Will earn a special 10% seal on their certificate 10% clubs giving $250 or more will receive one additional entry in the drawing for $500 club-level Live Your Dream award in the 2019-2020 club year. 4. Every club that increases their giving over the previous year will receive An extra honor on their certificate – a “shooting star” seal!   One of your handouts by SIA is the “10 reasons to give at least 10% - it’s self-explanatory but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

2nd Option Founders Pennies This tradition was born in 1943 to originally help re-establish clubs in Europe that had disbanded as a result of pre-World War II, but since then has evolved to become our way to celebrate the founding of our organization and support its global Dream Programs. Clubs usually submit their Founders Pennies with their club dues payment to SIA and since we are Founder Region, we continue to encourage 100% participation in Founders Pennies.

3rd Option 3rd Option - Laurel Society Could I ask all the Laurel Society members to please stand?   In appreciation for their contributions to our Dream Programs through the Laurel Society, let’s give these members a round of applause. The Laurel Society was established in 1994, this is SIA’s prestigious recognition program for donors who contribute $1,000 or more as their investment to our Dream Programs To honor these individuals, SIA has designed a beautiful pin to recognize the level of dollar designation for the donor which is laid out on the LAUREL SOCIETY ENROLLMENT FORM (show the form). ** Note to presenter ** (if there are any Laurel Society members that you have been asked to pin, insert the presentation of pins here) So, anyone who would like to get one of these beautiful pins can see me during the break and fill out the Laurel Society form or monthly giving form today!

Monthly Giving Which reminds me, one of the easiest ways to become a Laurel Society donor/member is through their MONTHLY GIVING PROGRAM (show the form). Just complete the enrollment form and select the amount of your monthly gift that will be subtracted from either your checking account or your credit card and you have the option to designate where you’d like your funds to be applied to; whether it’s the LYD program, the Dream It, Be It program or to an Unrestricted Support (which is divided up between the different programs). A monthly gift of any amount provides an efficient and reliable source of funding for Soroptimist’s Dream Programs. It’s an easy way to give and help ensure the women and girls who count on Soroptimist receive your ongoing support.   Become a monthly giver today!

Financial Transaction Form Whether it’s your Club Giving, Founders Pennies or Laurel Society contributions, you can send in your donations to SIA anytime during the fiscal year by completing the FINANCIAL TRANSACTION FORM (show the form) and send it with your payment.   If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, your District Representative, _________________________________ or our Region Chairperson, Lyn Lurbe.

“To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be THE WORLD.” (Author Unknown) I’d like to end with this quote:   “To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be THE WORLD.” (Author Unknown) THANK YOU!
