Wednesday 7th January

If you are interested, see Miss McWaters ASAP! S6 ONLY We have had an offer from Barclays PLC about their new Degree Programme. It is specifically for young people who want to leave school and go straight into the workplace. It will give you a chance to “earn as you learn” by working at Barclays PLC at the same time as  studying for a degree which would be sponsored by Barclays.  This opportunity will give you a chance to gain a degree whilst working for Barclays and gaining valuable skills and experiences. Barclays are looking for young people in S6 who will achieve 240 UCAS points by the end of S6. If you are interested, see Miss McWaters ASAP!

S4 Next steps… Following your prelims, staff are now preparing your report cards. They will be issued near the end of the month along with your options forms for S5. Please ensure you are working as hard as you can to reach the targets you have set out to achieve by the end of this year. Use the experience and results from your prelims to your advantage and begin to think about life after school and how you are going to get there… Do you need to stay on at school? Do you need certain grades? Does your career/next steps require a University or College route? Are you going to travel/work abroad? Are you ready for an apprenticeship/or to go straight into employment? Start discussing this at home, with teachers who can offer you advice and with the careers advisor. Make the right decision for you!
