Stressful moments, in court…. Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse? No. Did you check for blood pressure? Did you check for breathing? So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy? No. How can you be so sure, Doctor? Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar. But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless? Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere. So, you were not shot in the fracas? No, I was shot midway between the fracas and the shoulder. Do you know if your daughter has ever been involved in voodoo or the occult? We both do. Voodoo? We do. You do? Yes, voodoo.

For Starters… Question: why would any of us be anxious or fearful? Unless it is: Current world conditions Financial markets and US Debt Terrorist Threats and warnings Natural Disasters Shifting political policies Your job security Your retirement security Raising a family/Youth leader? Peer pressure Normalization of same-sex culture Pornography Texting Lady Gaga Personal: Your debt Your weight Your calling The car Your sins Your husband’s sins Your prodigal son Your high blood pressure And even more importantly: Who will replace Simon on American Idol? Team Edward or Team Jacob? Can Dr. House stay off the pills? Can the Cowboys win the Super Bowl? (mine)

In other words: When we labor and are heavy laden with: Our plans Our solutions Our focus Our fears But he is Meek and lowly: His plan for us His solutions His eternal focus His love His direction His peace
