Children’s Shuttle Company Background: The business started in 1988 in the SageMont area. Children Shuttle is a new and innovative community based service. Passing fliers and providing door-to-door service. After 8 years approximately move to the League City area and after two years began adding more vans.

Children’s Shuttle Company goals: Provide the safest transportation for the children with many safety features in place the children safety come first. Provide transportation for everyone from disadvantage children to the 9 -5, always busy, parents. Provide special need services.

Business Needs Improve customer service and provide faster schedules for different areas. Forecast the number of children from one area and predict how many vans needed. Replace old paper-based system with the new computerized system, to broaden new internet customers and to better serve existing customers. Reduce turnaround time for processing contracts.

Business Requirements Provide schedule search. Create an account for students. Capture students’ information into the database. Allow to edit student’s information. Allow to access to student’s account for previewing and renewing contracts. Produce contracts, management reports, and schedule tasks for employees. Provide payment online.

Business Value Tangible: Reduce turnaround time for receiving and replying customers’ calls. Reduce paper cost by replacing the new system. Increase sales 20% by expanding transportation service (number of routes) in League City, Friendswood City to Galveston.

Business Value Intangible: Increase customers’ awareness within the local community. Improve the image of the company by adopting computer system implementation. Reduce stressful for drivers. Reduce paperwork and clerical errors. Reduce paper-document process.

Special Issues or Constraints The system should be in place for the new academic year. Time needed to fill in paper-based contracts into database. Without improving the system, we may lose additional contracts and customers.
