Main Image: The main image is of a artist Kid Cudi Main Image: The main image is of a artist Kid Cudi. We have a medium shot of him so we can see his facial expressions and clothing. It gives a urban feel as he is a American rapper, it could suggest his fashion sense and could give you a lifestyle feel to the magazine. He is wearing dark colours such as black and grey. The colour grey is an emotionless, moody colour that is typically associated with meanings of dull, dirty, and dingy, as well as formal, conservative, and sophisticated. Black is a mysterious colour that is typically associated with the unknown or the negative. The colour black represents strength, seriousness, power, and authority. Black is a formal, elegant, and prestigious colour. He also has a tattoo which may signify his wealth and upcoming as he has a dollar bill, with different designs it comes across as very elegant and it is not something stupid. Contrast is used in the image as his face has shadows and is dark compared to his lower body. Drop Cap: One drop cap is used at the start of the article ‘Born 'this is used deliberately so the audience know where the article starts and is engaged into reading more of the magazine. Typography: The text style is more Arial and basic. It gives a good look as a whole as the article explains his life story and how he managed to accomplish his goals and career in the music industry. A colour scheme is used through out the double page spread, white and black. Title: The title is ‘Kid CUDI’ It is used as the article is about the artist. They used different fonts to give it a sleek look, but natural. ‘Kid’ is in joint handwriting and looks sophisticated whilst ‘CUDI’ looks more urban which may represent his personality. Pull Quote: ‘I was so nervous, but not typical butterflies, ‘he says, ‘like, ‘Man, I hope this n*gga don’t think I’m wack.’This is used purposefully so the target audience gets drawn into reading.
