It is advisable that students go over missed problems. Full credit is given for on time homework. Late homework is given 3/4credit (this includes NO NAMES). Please refer to student manual for absence policies of Thompson. MUST SHOW WORK Please don’t pre-number homework paper Show ALL work (must be with homework upon turning in) **Homework checks, tests and quizzes are given to reinforce concepts and assess for understanding.

Science We are using the ISN Interactive Science Notebook. For each chapter there is a cover sheet. Students are to keep their work together until the day the ISN is due (will be posted a week prior). A folder or section in their binder is helpful to keep all papers together. The day of the test, students will turn in the ISN, stapled, signed and completed.

Communication You may call me at (951) 696-1410 ext. 4514 Email is the best way to communicate with me. Please include your child’s first and last name in the Subject line of the email and the Period they have that subject. I have many students who have the same first name and this saves me time. You may call me at (951) 696-1410 ext. 4514

How to Help Your Child Students will be successful in school if they are organized and do their homework. Check their planner with Haiku for assigned homework. Make sure your child has their homework ready and completed for the day it is due. They need to walk in the door ready to hand it in. Be Accessible to your child so that he/she may ask you questions. Don’t give the answer. Children need to persevere in problem solving, otherwise they acquire learned helplessness. Be positive about school, so your child catches that same enthusiasm. Stay involved and interested in what they are doing.

Things You Should Know Homework Help: Mondays: Homework help from 1:55 - 3:00 in the Library. (Help is provided by substitute teachers and instructional assistants for all subjects.) Students must bring something to work on. Absences Absences: If you know that your child will be missing school for an extended absence, please notify all teachers at least one week before the absence so work can be gathered to provide to the student before leaving. Make up Tests must be arranged with Mrs. Stine to be taken before school.
