Pulling Evidence- How to Do It This is the ability to figure out which evidence supports your claim, and which evidence works against it Why would we want to identify evidence that refutes our claim? Requires an understanding of the author’s intentions, and a close reading of the source itself

On the day of the test, you will turn in an introduction (including a thesis) for the following prompt: “Defend or support the following statement: the progressives of the early 1900s were successful in their goal of solving the problems caused by industrialization” TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!!!!!! It will go in the “Writing” category on Skyward and be the only assignment in there If you do not do it, you WILL lose 20% of your grade. The highest grade you can get is an 80%
