Decimal Division

To divide a decimal by a whole number move the decimal point straight up and then divide as usual

Example: 25 7.5 3 25 7.5 Move your decimal point straight up, then divide

To divide a decimal by a decimal move the decimal point in the divisor over to make a whole number: 45 1 35

Now, move the decimal point in the dividend over the same number of spaces and then move your decimal point straight up and divide 45 1 35

3 45 135

What to do if the dividend is a whole number and the divisor is a decimal. Move the decimal point in the divisor until it becomes a whole number. You place the decimal point behind the whole number and then move it the same number of spaces.
