“God-Honoring Stewardship” Part 3 (Investment Advice) Luke 16:1-15

Luke 16:14-15

The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed Him.

For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God. And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

“We do what we do because we……..” “All of us are like the………..” “No servant can serve two……..” “You cannot serve God and……”

Read Luke 16:1-8

The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.

The Lord’s Table The Bread 1 Corinthians 11:23-24

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, “This is My body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”

1. A good steward uses treasure to build God’s kingdom. Vs. 9

make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.

Matthew 6:19-21

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Read Mark 12:41-44

A good steward does not lay claim to that which is not his. 2. A good steward does not lay claim to that which is not his. Vs. 10-12

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

“The eye is the lamp of the body “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! Matthew 6:22-23

If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?

And if you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?

3. A good steward chooses only to serve the Lord his God. Vs. 13

No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

The Lord’s Table The Cup 1 Corinthians 11:25-26

In the same way also He took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
