Partial Differential Equations and Applied Mathematics Seminar Title The HRT conjecture Speaker Prof. Kasso Okoudjou Affiliation University of Maryland Date May 27th, Fri., 4:00~ 5:00 Pm Location Science Building #225 Yonsei University Abstract In this talk I will introduce the HRT conjecture stated by C.Heil,J. Ramanathan , and P. Topiwala in the 90s and which asks whether the collection of finitely many time - frequency shifts of a non-zero square integrable function are linearly independent. Despite the simplicity of its statement, little is known about the conjecture in its generality. I will review some of the known results and will describe a recent approach I have introduced to investigate this problem. Yonsei University Department of Mathematics
