Math Practice & Technology IXL - Math Problem Solving & Basic Fact Knowledge/ Speed practice Requirement: students practice for 45 minutes each week (can do at home & school). Students are rewarded each week if they have over an hour! FASTT Math program, Stretch-to-Go and learnzillion are also great!

Components of Literacy Reading Skills: Direct/ guided instruction of comprehension and fluency skills Engage NY Modules/ Common Core Standards High interest, core novels will be used Shared/ Paired Reading: We will student selected novels for BOOK CLUBS Students need a novel to read at school/home at all times (Required 20-30 minutes per night for HW) Vocabulary enrichment NYS ELA Testing April 11th & 12th

Grading Policy Grades & Parent Portal (SAVE grading policies and correction rules sheet all year) Absences or missing academic subject due to instrumental lessons – students are responsible to find out what they missed & make up their work

Super Fun Stuff! Field Trips (TBD – chaperones will be needed) Class parties - please sign up to donate before you leave! Birthdays (25 students) - treats are not expected, but welcome. We typically do this at the end of the day for about 10 minutes, so please… no treats that need to be cut! Please provide napkins! Please provide spoons for ice cream treats.
