Deferment of NPS Account As per PFRDA Regulations, if the subscriber does not desire to withdraw the funds on attaining 60 years of age then subscriber has the option to opt for Deferment of request and remain in NPS till he/she attains 70 years of age In order to opt for Deferment under NPS, subscriber is required to initiate online request If subscriber is not able to initiate online request, associated POP will initiate request on behalf of the subscriber In case Subscriber opts for Deferment then Subscriber is not allowed to Contribute during Deferment period

Deferment Options Deferred Lump Sum – Subscriber can defer withdrawal of his/her Lump Sum portion for maximum of 10 years. Subscriber can defer Lump Sum amount till 70 years of age. Deferred Annuity - Subscriber can defer withdrawal of his/her Annuity portion for maximum of 3 years. Deferred Lump Sum & Annuity - Subscriber can defer withdrawal of his/her Lump Sum as well as Annuity portion. Subscriber can defer Lump Sum portion for maximum of 10 years and Annuity portion for maximum of 3 years.

Deferment Process For opting for Deferment under NPS, subscriber is required to initiate the online request at least fifteen days before the attainment of age of 60 years In case request is not initiated at least fifteen days before the attainment of age of 60 years then NPS Trust approval is required in order to avail Deferment benefit Subscriber will initiate Deferment request and associated POP will verify & authorize the same Once request is authorized, Subscriber will be able to remain in NPS till 70 years of age

To initiate Deferment request, go to https://cra-nsdl.com/CRA/

Enter your 12 digit PRAN and enter password 110030535113 ********** Enter Captcha and click on Submit Button 30

Click on “Exit Withdrawal Request”

Click on “Initiate Deferment”

Select “New request” and click on Submit button

Select “Type of Deferment” Select “Deferred Lump-Sum” for Deferring Lump Sum Withdrawal Select “Deferred Annuity” for Deferring Annuity Withdrawal Select both options for Deferring Lump Sum & Annuity Withdrawal

Click on “Proceed” button

Existing POP-SP name will be displayed. Click on “Proceed” Button

Confirmation screen will be displayed Confirmation screen will be displayed. Kindly click on “Confirm” button to complete the process

Once the deferment request is initiated successfully, an Acknowledgement Number will be generated Kindly inform your associated POP to Verify & Authorise request Once request is Authorised by associated POP, you will be able to remain in NPS till 70 years of age
