Agenda What is ADA? Where can ADA take you? Define Your ADA ADA in the workplace ADA = Career Growth Taking your career to new heights Quick overview – topical information – workshop goals

OR Aim, Desire, ASPIRE! So…what is ADA? Americans with Disabilities Act? OR Aim, Desire, ASPIRE! Everything you do at work prepares you for your next job. The imprint you choose to make in the workplace is pivotal in competing for and earning your next position. Presenter and participates dialogue as to what they first thought ADA meant. Understanding the concept of Aim, Desire, Aspire How does this concept fit into the workplace? How do you incorporate the ADA into your career goals and in the workplace?

Where can ADA Take You? AIM purpose or intention; a desired outcome. Define your career goals or path Be intentional – develop realistic goals Desired outcome? AIM FOR THE STARS! Presenter and participants interactions Why or what is the purpose of you taking this workshop – what do you hope to walk away with – information (only) knowledge, how to define the end goal – or moving up the career ladder?

Desire a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen Just wishing for a better career – will not get you to the stars! Wanting a better career – just may land you amongst the stars! Actions that can move your career forward Know the educational requirements needed to move up the ladder Increase current skills – or – acquire the skills needed for your dream job Develop a formal or informal Career Learning Plan – CLP Apply for appropriate detail opportunities Ask for consideration to join a task force – or special projects team Discussion will center upon the participants career desires, job currently in or the type of job they wish to explore/move towards. Scenario type questions will be distributed just prior to this slide - depending on the number of participants – small groups may be formed - each group will be assigned a specific question or topic. Each group will select a spokes person to present the groups findings. If the number of participants do not allow for small groups discussion the questions will be used within an open format.

ASPIRE! direct one's hopes or ambitions toward achieving something Bottom line up front – BLUF Are you ambitious enough? How to achieve the end goal - you made it to the top! Who will you inspire so they can ASPIRE to new heights? Presenter and participants will engage in an open format discussion. Ambitious vs unrealistic, how to set and accomplish goals – baby steps at first – moving towards career milestones, how to ASPIRE it forward – in other words – pay it forward.

A coordinators listed on OPM, additional career oriented book titles, creditable VLOGS and/or BLOGS as well as websites. External organizations that can assist with career planning.
