Project 2: IoT Device Vulnerabilities and Security REU Student: Bryan Pearson Graduate mentors: Kelvin Ly and Kaveh Shamsi Faculty Mentor(s): Dr. Jin and Dr. Zhang Week 1 (May 23 – May 27, 2016) Accomplishments: Started looking through the UCF IoT database, summarizing each device and vulnerability Downloaded VirtualBox to use Linux Read some articles discussing hardware hacking Read article on autonomous convoys Plans for next week: Continue looking through the database Learn UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) Get hands-on and hack one of the devices in the lab
