Photosynthesis

Why would trees rather we blew them a kiss than gave them a hug?

What is photosynthesis? Photosynthesis is the process by which trees make sugars. “Photo” – light “Synthesis” – to make Photosynthesis = to make using light

How Does it Happen? Trees take in carbon dioxide and water Using energy from sunlight, chlorophyll changes the carbon dioxide and water into sugar and oxygen

What Happens to the Products? The sugar created by the tree is used for tree growth. The oxygen created is not needed by the tree and is released back into the atmosphere. Animals use this oxygen in cellular respiration in order to produce their own energy.
