(1) Constitutive Kras is induced and p53 is deleted in Lgr5+ cells of the bulge, but there is no effect in the short term, even after a telogen to anagen transition. (2) Induction of Hras and deletion of p53 in Krt15+ cells leads to only minor follicular hyperplasia. (3) Induction of constitutive Hras and deletion of p53 in Lgr6+ cells drives infundibular hyperplasia. (4) Induction of constitutive Kras and deletion of p53 in Lgr6+ cells generates infundibular hyperplasia and papilloma. (5) Induction of constitutive Kras and deletion of p53 in telogen has no effect until the next hair cycle.
