Similarity/Difference “In Paris with You” Evidence Explanation “Hour” Evidence Similarity: In both poems, the speaker states that in reality, love in not about places or things, but about being together. “Do you mind if we do not go to the Louvre/ If we say sod off to sodding Notre Dame,/ If we skip the Champs Elysées” In the first poem, the speaker asks his partner’s permission to skip the well-known tourist attraction in Paris, so they could spend time together. In the second poem, the speaker states that no artificial light, whether that of a rich chandelier or theatrical spotlight, could light their partner up with excitement and joy than when they are together. “no chandelier or spotlight see you better lit/ than here.”
