What to Expect Projector will be unavailable on Saturday August 23 between 10 AM and 2 PM ET Users will not need to do anything special after the release as Projector will just update itself as necessary Some configuration changes may be necessary after the release to take advantage of new features Customized consulting, training, and roll-out services will be available for organizations with more significant needs Copies of this presentation will be e-mailed out to attendees
Receipt Management Receipts can be uploaded at the individual line item level or at the expense report level Users can zoom and pan to make receipt images as legible as possible Notes can be added to further annotate receipts or explain missing receipts Receipts can be viewed and managed during the approval workflow and from the invoice browser
MS Project Integration Allows users to upload MSP files into Projector as detailed task plans Actual and remaining hours, percent complete data, and baselines can be downloaded from Projector into MSP Resources, allocations, dependencies, work, and start and end dates will be preserved during uploads and downloads Attributes that cannot be preserved will be displayed to the user
Report Scheduling and Distribution Reports can be scheduled to run on a periodic basis; once run, the report will be available in the user’s report output section Reports can be sent to a defined distribution list after it has finished running and recipients will receive and e-mail with a link to the report Recipients on a distribution list will have permissions to view the entire report, regardless of how their permissions are configured in Projector Mechanism can be used to run and access reports via web services requests
Revenue Holdbacks and Schedules Allows users to hold back a percentage or amount of system revenue on fixed price engagements until the holdback is earned Revenue will be recognized to the contract amount less holdback until the holdback is earned Reports will allocate system revenue to the contract amount less holdback and model earning the holdback on the revenue earn by date Holdback amounts and percentages are new KPIs on the project dashboard and can be included in various reports Revenue schedules will allow users to “profile” revenue projections and drive revenue recognition Revenue schedules may often be used for retainer agreements or other engagements where revenue will be earned on a defined schedule instead of by percent complete
Accounting Reports Provide summary and detailed information about transactions by account and balances by account Can provide traceability down to the individual time card and/or cost card transaction level Can be scheduled like other analytical reports and/or accessed via web services Accounting Analysis Report Accounting Balances Report
Enhanced Salesforce.com Interface Automated interface that runs each night to update data changed in salesforce.com to model pipeline Governed by a set of configurable mappings and rules that describe what data is imported and how data will look in Projector Addition of % likelihood allows grouping and factoring of projections in analytical reports Requires salesforce.com Professional Edition or higher Will require some configuration services from Projector PSA salesforce.com certified solution: Projector Salesforce.com Clients Accounts Engagements Mappings/ Rules Opportunities Projects Products Estimates
Configuration Changes: Receipt Management Organizations can allow receipts to be uploaded at the expense report level and/or the item level Maximum receipt file size will be set to 1 MB on upgrade, but can be reset as needed Receipts can be locked at various points in the approval workflow Receipts storage fees are counted as part of document storage and incur a charge of $50/GB/month
Configuration Changes: Project Stages Organizations can now prevent users from overriding the project stage settings of whether a project is open for time and costs or transfers Additional workflow controls now exist that determine what project stages PMs can set projects to PMs can be given additional permissions to transfer time and costs among projects they manage
Configuration Changes: Billing Cycles Billing cycles can be used to group engagements together when creating invoices Billing cycles define end dates for the process of invoice creation
Configuration Changes: Accounting Periods Accounting periods can now be opened for time and/or costs on an individual company basis Organizations that are divided up into multiple companies can now close periods at different times Companies associated with resources and engagements must be open for a resource to log time to a project
Configuration Changes: Resource Time Self-approval Resources can be allowed to approve their own time or not; useful for contractors who are playing PM roles, but for whom someone else needs to approve time Will be set to checked (allowed) on upgrade as that reflects current behavior
Configuration Changes: Allow AR Period Override Allows users to specify what accounting period AR transactions will be placed in from within the invoice
