The Power of an Invitation It can open doors. It is God’s method.

Invitations from God To the Foolish who cannot see their true spiritual condition before God (Isa 1:18-19). To the Impoverished who work to eat bread but are in spiritual starvation (Isa 55:1-3). To the Exhausted & Burdened who comply with law but sense their guilt(Matt 11:28-30). To the Thirsty who desire the refreshing promise of salvation (Rev 22:17; cf. 22:1; 21:6).

Invitations from God’s people Prophesied invitations (Isa 2:1-3). Actual invitations: Andrew invited Peter (John 1:40-42). Philip invited Nathaniel (John 1:3-46). Samaritan woman invited her city (John 4:28-30). Levi (Matthew) invited tax collectors (Luke 5:27-29). Cornelius invited his relatives & close friends (Acts 10:24, 33). Ananias invited Paul to obey the gospel (Acts 22:16).

Invitations from Us Make it IMPERATIVE! “Come now!” Expect excuses (Luke 14:16-20). Get out of your normal path of life (Luke 14:21-24). Seek out those who will count cost & commit (Luke 14:25-33).

The Power of an Invitation Don’t underestimate it. It has transformed lives.
