FAIR SCHEDULE Monday March 5 4-7pm Certification* WE NEED TEACHERS TO HELP CERTIFY Students must be checked in by 6:45 Select Medical Lobby NOT Blocker Hall ALL projects must be certified or they will be disqualified Students must set up their own project unless other arrangements are pre-approved Projects not set up by participant must be certified and the student is responsible for finding the location of the project MUST have hard copy of Project Summary and HACC Photo Release Tuesday March 6 – Judging 8:30 am – 3pm HACC Provided demonstrations 9AM – 11AM STUDENT INTERVIEWS 12 – 1:30 NO EXCEPTIONS Students are expected to beat the display the entire 90 minutes Wednesday March 7 – Grand Champion Judging 9 -11* OPEN TO PUBLIC noon – 8pm Thursday March 8 – Open to public 9am – 7:30pm Jr Awards 5:30 Sr Awards 7:30 Project removal immediately following ceremonies – unclaimed projects will be recycled. Students travelling more than 100 miles will be afforded the opportunity to set up on judging day and have grand champion judging electronically.

PUBLIC VIEWING DAYS- COME VISIT The fair will be open Wednesday and Thursday for the public. A short scavenger hunt questionnaire can be completed and entered into a drawing for prizes FREE parking and admission A WONDERFUL way to encourage students, come see their work and bring others to encourage 2020 participation

THE FINANCIAL PICTURE The financial portion of the fair continues to be a challenge. We have several grant applications awaiting response. If funds become available to cover registration fees, we will post the mini-grant application process again. There are EASY ways you can encourage parents, students and colleagues and friends to help $upport CASEF: Choose CASEF when placing orders through Amazon Smiles Through pointworthy.com Citi Thankyou points and Hilton Honors points can be converted to cash donations to CASEF Contributions can be designated for CASEF on the United Way pledge form. 70% of United Way funding is undesignated! Donations can be made on the website or through Network for Good on the CASEF Facebook page. We are now an Innovative Educational Program and qualify for EITC Tax Credit status for business donors. First year 75% tax credit, second year 90%.

If you registered last year, you just need to update information. PLEASE make sure students are consistent with your name. 2. Register, RECORD INFORMATION – An email will be sent to Fair Admin for approval to activate. Please allow 24 hrs. 3. Remember your credentials 1. Log on to STEMWIARD 4 You can also click on the Student Management option and use the ACTION drop-down to log in in as your student 5. STEMWIZARD will generate a student list for you.

PLEASE HELP US!!!!!!! The SRC committee gives up a Saturday morning to review EACH entry. About 90% of our workload could be eliminated if each sponsor would take a few moments to review entries. As you overwhelmingly requested, you have the ability to view your student entries on STEMWIZARD. Prior to the deadline make sure to: Deactivate non-participants Check for 5 sources in research plan Make sure surveys are included in research plan All forms are signed All forms are completely viewable Human projects have a DS or QS and Form 4 and Consent The abstract is completed ALL students have a risk assessment Form 3 IRB signatures are included Form 1B #2 and Form 4 Titles are maximum of 85 Characters Research Plan is complete –including copy of any survey/data collection

We will not be collecting nor printing these prior to or at set up. Abstract VS. Summary An ABSTRACT contains the problem, hypothesis, procedure description and anticipated results. A SUMMARY contains the problem statement, hypothesis, procedure description and conclusion statement. MAXIMUM 300 words. Students MUST bring a hard copy the Summary/Checklist form with them to set up. Students MUST bring a hard copy the HACC Photo Release form to set up. NO FORMS – NO ADMISSION. We will not be collecting nor printing these prior to or at set up.

Judging Infraction Report Code of Conduct CODE OF CONDUCT NFRACTIONS Students causing a distraction during judging, will be given a verbal warning. If asked a second time, they may be dismissed from judging and forfeit participation and any awards. Projects that receive 3 infractions will be disqualified. Students are NOT to be on electronic devices during judging. Students who leave the display and miss being judged will forfeit the interview opportunity. Conversations between neighboring participants should be respectful of judging in the proximity. Students are expected to STAND at the project (not sit on tables/chairs) during the interview No one except the participant and judges are permitted in Blocker Hall.
