10-25-17 Comprehensive - Changing Science Research Project

Do Now: Copy this essential question in your science notebook What is an instance from the history of science in which scientific knowledge has changed when new evidence or interpretations are encountered?

Read the article, “DNA detectives get teeth to talk” As you read, write down examples of how scientists changed the way they looked at evidence.

Summary: Write this in your science notebook. Scientific knowledge can change due to new technology which allows us to gather new evidence. Scientific knowledge can change due to new interpretations of evidence.

Assignment: Changing Science Research Project Research another example of how scientific knowledge has changed throughout history, specifically because of technology or due to new interpretations. Your project should answer the essential question, “What is an instance from the history of science in which scientific knowledge has changed when new evidence or interpretations are encountered?”

Changing Science Research Project You will have time in-class today to begin creating a short PowerPoint to present this to the class. You may work individually or in pairs. Your presentation will be graded on content and the presentation (see rubric) Presentations will be Friday (10/27).
