Job Performance Requirement 17-1 Conventional Forcible Entry—Door Swinging Away from the Forcible Entry Team
A Size up the door to determine swing; the number, type, and location of locking devices; and the type of door and frame.
B Place the adz between the door and the door stop 6 inches above or below center of the lock and push up or down to spread the door from the frame. JPR 17-1B
C Place the fork of the Halligan tool into the gapped area with the bevel of the fork toward the door no more than 6 inches above or below the center lock. JPR 17-1C
around the door and locked in. D Set the tool using the flathead ax or maul. Drive the Halligan tool in so that the tips are around the door and locked in. JPR 17-1D
E If difficulty is experienced in setting the tool, drive fork in with bevel toward frame to allow easier entry. JPR 17-1E
