Changes of state in nature S1 Chemistry Introduction to Chemistry

Learning outcomes Success criteria Know examples of changes of state occurring in nature. You can describe the three different stages of the water cycle, including: the starting and finishing state of water at each stage the term used to describe this state change reference to whether heat energy is being taken in or removed. .

Draw pictures to show what happens to water once it reaches the sea. EXAMPLE... Picture 1 – evaporation of water, forming clouds Picture 2 – raining Picture 3 – rivers flowing into the sea Picture 4 – the original picture A cartoon strip sequence is a series of cartoon-style pictures that shows a sequence of events. The pictures are likely to be labelled or annotated. The purpose of using a cartoon strip sequence is to explore the learners’ ideas about the sequence of events in a process or series of processes.
