Class Schedule 6:55-7:20 Unpacking and Setting up for the Day 7:20-7:40 Announcements, Morning Work, and Homeroom 7:40-8:40 Writing with Mrs. Curlee 8:40-8:45 Bathroom Break 8:45-9:45 Reading 9:45-9:50 Packing up and go to Specials 9:50-10:40 Specials 10:42-11:12 Lunch 11:12-11:20 Bathrooms and Switch to Ms. Pfisters room 11:20-12:20 Math 12:20-1:20 Science 1:20-1:50 Recess 1:50 Dismissal of car riders, walkers and Rec. 1:50-2:05 Study Hall, Clean up and then walk to buses

Supplies Number 2 pencils (mechanical are ok) 2 Spiral notebooks Loose Leaf Paper – 2 packs wide rule Black Pens Red Pens Old Sock (Clean Please!) Highlighters Thin dry erase marker Sticky Notes Scissors – Fiskars (AVID Binder, dividers and pencil pouch will be bought at school) Glue Sticks Crayons – 24 Box 2 Composition notebooks

Grades Reading: Reading Notebook - (notes, responses, classwork, etc.) 40% Tests/Reading Group Work - 40% Participation/AR Tests - 10% Homework - 10% Writing: Reading Notebook Grammar – 25% Finished Writing Pieces – 25% Rough Draft/Prewrites – 25% Classwork – 25% Spelling Classwork – 45% Tests - 45% Homework – 10% Social Studies: Classwork and Participation – 40% Tests – 40% Project s– 20% **All of the students grades will be done online for parents to see . You will get a user name and password as soon as possible. Science and Math Grades – Ms. Pfister

AVID This year we are continuing to use AVID. We will be focusing on becoming successful students to go to college!! The students will be using the Organizational Tool again this year. This binder will hold everything!!!! All assignments for all classes and their agenda!!! We will check these periodically. Students also should have a back pack with just the necessary items in it. Meaning no toys or extra stuff from home!! We will do back pack checks periodically. From there we will be working on 2 column and 3 column note taking skills. So HELP us by supporting you students and encouraging them to think they can and will succeed!!

Discipline *Rules: *When rules are broken students will have the following consequences: 1. First offence a warning 2. Second offence – Conduct Mark 3. Third offence – Conduct Mark – Possible call home/note home 4. Fourth offence – Conduct Mark – Walk at Recess For each conduct mark received students have points taken off their behavior grade. If students have less than a 93 then they do not participate in the Nine Weeks Incentive. You will get a behavior contract after the first 10 days of school. Be looking for it in their Wednesday Folder. 

Rewards We will be using an Economy in our classroom where students will be applying for jobs and getting paid. This will be discussed in a few weeks and students will be able to purchase items with their money. Other Incentives: Monthly Incentives Nine Weeks Incentives Technology Days Movie Days AR Incentives Agenda’s being signed incentives

Weekly Folders Every week/month there are certain The Weekly Folder will come home each week with graded work, notes, etc. on Monday except for a few weeks through out the year. Please check it each week and return it signed by that Tuesday. Each day that it is late the student will have to walk at recess for 5 mins and write themselves a reminder note. Every week/month there are certain things I will send home in the Folder: *Bi-Weekly Grade Reports *Graded Work *Any paperwork needed to be sign *Monthly newsletters *Scholastic Book orders (I am a big advocate for books so there will be some usually every month.)
