The Shop, The Warehouse and The Factory Data Storage Packages Orders Reporting and Statistics Shop Warehouse Factory Delivery Collects order instructions to send to warehouse Transform Data Clip QA incoming data from Suppliers Inventory of what’s available for the shop Builds packages for the warehouse Elvis infrastructure Email Delivery via a link Reporting Links to Users

ELVIS Infrastructure API

ELEVATION.FSDF.ORG.AU NSW, ACT, QLD, SA, TAS

Enhance Location Valued InfrastructureS (ELVIS) Currently ELVIS deliveries Foundation Spatial Data for Elevation and Depth, Place Names and soon Imagery and Surface Water. Focus was to automate the data interoperability and delivery Three parts AWS IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) FME ETL (Extract Load Transfer) Interface (WMS, json, HTTP, KML) Reason we went with these as they are all OGC compliant

FME WMS – getcapabilites, getfeatures Json Streamimg – Web application interaction WPS is complicated adopting AWS gateway API to open the application to metadata catalogues Future to implement Geoserver for WFS capabilities WPS we found complicated, where AWS gateway API allowed us an easier way to open our data to metadata catelogues

Advantages OGC Web Services to Users and Providers Costs associated with preparing, packaging and shipping geospatial data are considerably reduced or eliminated Effort and costs associated with purchasing equipment and preparing data for shipping are significantly reduced or eliminated In general with the Cloud, geospatial data can be exchanged at much lower costs.

Advantages to Cloud Infrastructure Deploying services at lower cost in the cloud Deploying Geospatial services is relatively easy pay only for the computer resources required to service users. Flexibility to scale systems up and down at any time. OGC-compliant software products (FME Cloud) that have demonstrated a certain level of performance and scalability

Advantages of adopting OGC standards - Innovativon and collaboration Ability to serve content by accessing a greater variety of providers . Providers benefit significant cost reductions by only serving their own data but sharing infrastructure. Automation of services for notify data administrators and update content in almost real time.

Elevation Benefits Per Month Approaching 4000 orders ~40 terabytes of free data to users Significantly Reduced cost and time of Supply ~60 million dollars worth of data available Every Jurisdiction has committed to eventually have a presence. (8 entities) Reporting and Statistics Now have a new picture of who our data users are. Soon will survey Users to built a better idea of the benefits they have realised from our collaboration.
