A View From the Bridge Analysis By Carrie Chan

Introduction I am analyzing the relationship between Catherine and Beatrice.

The importance of Beatrice Throughout the Play, We can see that Beatrice treats Catherine as her own daughter, as she does not have any children of her own. She has taught Catherine many things to give her support on becoming independent as a woman.

The importance of Beatrice For example: When Catherine wants a job, Beatrice did the best she could to persuade Eddie to let her purchase her dream Quotation Catherine: "He still thinks I'm a baby." Beatrice: "Because you think you're a baby."

Jealousy In a way, Beatrice WAS jealous of Catherine at one point of the play. While she was talking to Catherine about how Eddie was behaving overprotective. Quotation Beatrice: "Like when he comes home sometimes you throw yourself at him like when you was twelve years old."
