Today’s Revision Activity! Grab 3 colored pencils: red, blue, and green View “Austin’s Butterfly” and discuss. Round 1: Transitions- Red through your piece. With your red pencil mark any place where the writing feels “choppy” or “awkward”. Use the red color to indicate places where you need a new sentence or paragraph. Round 2: Words-- Give your writing to a buddy that you trust. Using the green pencil, have he or she mark any words that he or she thinks could be improved or insert any words he or she thinks you need. Round 3: Shape and Structure– Give your writing to a new friend. Using the blue pencil, he or she need to comment on your shape and structure. Does your story have a clear beginning middle and end? Does it “flow”? Is it interesting? Does it need any organizational work?

SCARS Your “scars” piece is due on Monday with your rough draft attached. You may type it if you wish. The BEST pieces from each class will be sent to Mr. Harshman for review!! (and possible publication… )
