Rational self assembly of macromolecular arrays for optimized light harvesting and photocatalytic hydrogen production Jonas I. Goldsmith, Department of Chemistry , Bryn Mawr College, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 PS= [Ir(ppy)2(bpy)]+ Hydrogen production using simplified single-component photosensitizer (PS) system; electron transfer quenching by Sac generates reduced PS. Photo-induced chronoamperometry (PICA) technique developed to explore photochemical kinetics and probe the efficiency of PS- generation. Analysis of PICA data gives a direct measurement of the [Ir]0 generated by light pulse from LED. Synthesis of pyrene-terminated bipyridine ligand to functionalize carbon nanotubes and graphene with photocatalytic transition metal complexes.
