Why Women Got The Vote

During WW1 all suffragette/suffragist activity stopped and women instead threw themselves into the war effort. In 1917 the House of Commons voted by 385-55 that women should have the vote. In February 1918 the Bill became law The 1918 Reform Act was passed Female householders over the age of 30 could have the vote & become MPs (all men over 21 were given the vote) 8.1 million women got the vote, 40% if electorate.
