Faith and Works Titus 2:7 '...in all things showing yourself an example of good works.‘ Titus 2:13-14 '...looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.' Titus 3:1 'Put them in mind to be in subjection to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready unto every good work.'

Faith and Works Titus 3:8 '...I want you to speak confidently so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good works.' Titus 3:14 '..Our people must also learn to engage in good works to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.'

Faith and Works First discussion point A person declares : Faith in Jesus alone is not enough for me to be saved, I must to do good works to enter heaven Mat 5:19, 7:19-27

Faith and Works Second discussion point – What do we understand ?? 'For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.‘ Mat 5:20

Faith and Works John 6:28-29 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

Faith and Works - Salvation Your greatest human effort is not enough. But righteousness with God can come by another way. Through a GIFT of God that you can NEVER pay for... otherwise it wouldn't be a gift. You simply receive it in faith and thank Him with all you have got!

God’s justice is questioned Faith and Works God’s justice is questioned Where is God's justice if they are continuing practicing homosexuals, rapists, murderers, child molesters are allowed to go just because they believed in Jesus? Where does doing good fit in? It would seem as though a person has the green light to do the work of Satan just because one believed in Jesus. ????

Faith and Works The good works that a person does as a Christian is the Natural result of having received the Holy Spirit into their lives. God looked not at what I did, but at what Jesus did on my behalf. And He came to live in my life, never to leave or forsake me. Awesome promise, and awesome reality

Faith and Works Now that I am saved, and are declared righteous before God, I can go out and sin as much as I want?? Rom 6:1 No Sins that we didn't care about before becoming a Christian, soon could see as wrong... and they will not desire to do them anymore. It is the natural consequence of receiving the Holy Spirit into your life.

Be zealous for good works as Christians. Faith and Works Be zealous for good works as Christians. For example, look at how much the Apostle Paul speaks about good works in the one book of Titus.

This is right and is pleasing to God. Faith and Works We should shine the light of the truth of God through how we live our life. We should desire to actually engage in good works to help those around us. This is right and is pleasing to God. This is the consequence and outworking of our salvation, not the means of obtaining it.

Gal 3:10-14, James 2:10 Faith and Works 'All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” You cannot be trusting in Jesus by faith, and trusting in what you do (the law) at the same time.

Convey 2 1 Timothy 2:3-6 God wants all men to be saved Jesus thought they were worth dying for If we would truly see people who are unsaved in the same way Jesus does, our lives would be revolutionized. What do you see ? Problem or the Potential ? How do we see them ? Non Christian Or Pre-Christian

Obey 3 Titus 3:1 Remind the people ….. 1 Pet 2:13 Submit yourselves What do we do when man’s laws conflict with God’s laws? Can you break the laws ? Key to spiritual revival in our country is not found in the Court House or the White House… it’s found in the CHURCH HOUSE and OUR OWN HOUSE!

Display (Walk) 4 Titus 3:2 Kind of Christianity that we display to the rest of the world. Don’t be up in arms about the 10 Commandments being removed from a court building if they have already been removed from your life! If we are going to make a difference in this nation’s spiritual climate, then we need to be a people who display what Jesus is all about! Matt 5:14-16
