Children’s book Project In this project you will take the complex issue of conformity vs. nonconformity and transform it into a children’s book. Your book will be presented to Mr. Sittner’s special day class after Spring Break. Your book should be simple enough for a child to understand, yet it should thoroughly explain the struggles surrounding conformity vs. nonconformity.

DO NOW: Tell A Spring Break Story Write a story about an event that specifically happened during Spring Break: As I drove to my new condo, I glanced expectantly at my grandmother. “It’s only 15 minutes from work, Ma,” I said reassuringly. “That’s great,” she said with a smile. I knew she was trying to please me. I opened the gate to my housing complex with one click of my remote. I looked over, she smiled at me. I wondered so many things in that moment: would she like my place? Would the walk from my parking space to the front door be too much for? Either way, this was a moment, 30 years in the making.
