Human Growth and Development Test Outline

All information from chapter 9 assignment is fair game All information from chapter 9 assignment is fair game. Most will appear in a multiple choice question. Some may be applicable in a short answer question. Motor skill vs Motor ability. Motor Control vs Motor performance, motor learning. Growth, maturation and development. CNS and PNS components. Parts of the reflex arc. Open vs Closed Loop activity. Neuroplasticity – how does the brain change? LTAD model for sport – understand 7 stages; be able to apply What is the main goal? What role does LTAD have for mental fitness?

What is the physical literacy connection to LTAD? Stages for motor learning (3). What are the constraints (3) on performance/skill development. Be able to apply them in a sport context. Know examples of factors that affect skill development. Understand the two types of feedback (KP and KR). When is feedback most effective? What are the fundamental moving skills? Know some examples. Transferability. Open vs Closed skills. 5 phases of skill completion.

What is ideal performance state? What are 5 ways to enhance mental acuity? Know the 5 coaching styles.

This outline is not limiting – everything covered is fair game for the test. Test is Wednesday, November 28th. Same format as per usual. Don’t be absent please!
