Divisibility Rules

A number is divisible by 2 if it is an even number (ends in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8). Examples: 58 1,246 210

A number is divisible by 3 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 3. Examples: 126 4,701 111 1+2+6=9 4+7+0+1=12 1+1+1=3

A number is divisible by 4 if the last two digits are a multiple of 4. Examples: 836 5,204 916

A number is divisible by 5 if the last digit is a 5 or 0. Examples: 90,465 970 165

A number is divisible by 6 if it is divisible by both 2 and 3. Examples: 78 252 1,302 7+8=15 2+5+2=9 1+3+0+2=6

A number is divisible by 9 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 9. Examples: 342 3,744 648 3+4+2=9 3+7+4+4=18 6+4+8=18

A number is divisible by 10 if it ends in zero. Examples: 250 30 10,800
