School Information Attendance Students may not arrive before 7:00 A.M. Tardies Students must be in the classroom by the 7:30 bell. If you arrive after this time you must get a slip from the office. Discipline Wetmore Code of Conduct

Curriculum Based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) (see NEISD website) Language- Building Blocks, includes phonemic awareness, reading and writing Math- Investigations and Envisions Integration of Science, Social Studies and Health Checklists go home every 9 weeks GT Process for Kinder begins in January

Technology As a class, students visit the computer lab once every two weeks. Students have access to computers in the classroom. Students will have access to the Internet only with parental permission. NEISD monitors all information allowed into the district.

Library Students will visit the library every Thursday at their designated time for a story and lesson with the librarian. We do not check books out weekly. Kinder participates in a reading bag program. A different reading bag comes home nightly with 2 books (1 fiction and 1 nonfiction) Must be returned daily- Students receive folder marks for not returning their bag each day

Homework Monthly Homework Folder will begin in October and will be due back each Friday to be checked. Each night practice daily routines, tying shoes, buttoning buttons, writing first and last name, Discuss being a respectable Wetmore Ranger Homework Folders will be sent home on Mondays and will be due on Fridays, all students are expected to complete the homework assignments.

Parent Involvement Encourage your child to tell you about his/her day (Ask specific questions: Name a story you and your class have read? What happened in the story? What did you do in… (P.E., Music, etc..)? Fieldtrips are a great way for working parents to participate. We will give you as much notice as possible so that you can make arrangements at work! Please complete the MANDATORY CHC (Criminal History Check) NOW! – This must be completed via the internet! District Volunteer Database was wiped out! Everyone must reapply to volunteer!

Health Get a good night sleep When your child has a fever, keep them at home. They must be fever- free for 24 hours. Medication can only be administered under the direction of the nurse. This includes ALL over-the-counter medications such as cough drops, Tylenol, cough syrup, etc. If your child is absent please send a doctors note.

Communication Check your childs communication folder and initial behavior calendar daily. All correspondence should be placed in this folder. Remove all notes and work from folder on a daily basis Money Collections must be in an envelope with childs name, amount and purpose on the envelope Conference Time is 12:00-12:50

Procedures Parent pick-up children will be on the stage by 2:30, you must come inside to get these students. If your child is going home a different way than usual, WE MUST HAVE A WRITTEN NOTE in the communication folder (dont forget to sign and date the note). *** Please do not change your childs routine frequently, it causes confusion. Students will not be pulled from class after 2:10
