Meine Familie

What are Mr. Williams’ credentials? BS in Biology M.Ed. Middle Grades Education- Math and Science TAG Certified Certified Broad field Science Gr. 6-12 Experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, Physics, Life Science, Earth Science.

TAG Science? Along with the GPS there will be an emphasis on… Problem Solving Critical Thinking Creative Thinking Technology Integration

Non-Negotiable! What are the everyday expectations? Arrive to class on time. Be prepared for learning with appropriate materials/supplies. Be polite and respectful to others and the property of others. Use appropriate language at all times. Follow all directions, procedures, school and county guidelines for conduct. Always strive for his/her personal best.

Grading Scale The following is a percentage breakdown of how grades will be calculated. Four and a half week interim and nine week report cards will be issued. Tests/Projects 45% Quizzes/HW Quizzes/ Minor Performance Projects 20% Labs/Lab Reports 25% Class Work/Homework 10%

What about HW? Yes, we will have it! Homework will consist of the following types of activities: Completion of class work and lab assignments Worksheets/Textbook assignments Special projects (individual and/or group) Weekly HW Quizzes will be administered on Fridays to assess students' comprehension of content.

What about Labs? Labs are the best way to learn and DO science… But they are a privilege!!! When involved with such lessons, students must follow directions carefully, wait for instructions and behave in an appropriate manner. Students who do not follow these guidelines will not be allowed to participate and will receive an alternative assignment.

What are Lab Reports? Written lab reports are how scientists communicate their results to the scientific community. Yes, you will learn how to write professional lab reports and you will be required to type them when necessary. Labs will always be completed in class and opportunities will be given to type lab reports during class time. However, occasionally you will be required to complete lab reports at home.

Where are my assignments due? Assignments are to be turned into the “RED CRATE”. Everyone locate the “RED CRATE” now!

When are assignments due? Duhhhhh… They are due on their due date. But, what if … I’m absent? I forget? I need more time? I’m lazy?

When you are absent… Always do the following in this order… Check Website the day that you are out Check the while you were out area Everyone locate this area now… Ask a classmate for assistance Ask Mr. Williams You have the same number of days that you were out to make up missed assignments. This includes tests, quizzes and projects.

Late Work… Assignments that are not turned in on their due date will incur a penalty… 10 pt. penalty every day its late, up to 3 days. More than 3 days = 50% max. All work assigned within a grading period must be turned in within that grading period. Huh??? Questions…

Late Work Ticket Assignments that are not turned in on their due dates must be accompanied by a late work ticket. These tickets can be located in the “while you were out area” or downloaded off our class website. Let’s look at a ticket…
