Euphonious Example: The audience liked the organist’s euphonious melodies. Definition: Pleasing sound; not harsh or strident

Eulogize Example: Before conferring the posthumous award, the presiding officer will eulogize the recipient, outlining his many accomplishments during his long life. Definition: To write or speak in praise of someone

Euphemism Example: The employee formerly called a “janitor” is now known by a euphemism, such as “maintenance engineer” or “custodian” Definition: Substitution of a “good” expression for an unpleasant one

Euthanasia Example: Many believe that anyone who commits euthanasia, regardless of the circumstances, is a murderer. Definition: controversial practice of mercifully putting to death a person suffering from an incurable, painfully distressing disease.

Euphoria Example: The euphoria I felt when my teacher complimented my work this morning stayed with me for the rest of the day. Definition: sense of great happiness or well-being

Eudemonic Example: For many people, a cup of coffee is an eudemonic in the morning, making them content and prepared to face the day. Definition: Producing happiness and well-being

Eupeptic Example: Though I really didn’t want to hear about my grandmother’s digestion, she was more than happy to share with me the good news that she is eupeptic and does not need to take any medication to regulate. Definition: Having good digestion; cheerful; optimistic
