BOX 701, Avon, Ma 02322 NEWSLETTER JUNE 2016 AMVETS is about veterans helping veterans The Post By-Law All AMVET Members Have To Wear An AMVET Hat Or Cap At All Meetings Sunday JUNE 19th @ 9:30 am SHARP!!! at the VFW Avon, MA COMMANDER PAUL CHUTE Commanders corner I would like to congratulate and welcome the officers elected for the 2016 – 2017 term. Ray Dube 1st Vice Commander, Bob Cotone 2nd Vice Commander, Bill Butler Judge Advocate , Allen Smith Finance Officer, Bob Mila Sgt Of Arms, and Glen Cabbage Chaplin. We will have our Installation of Officers at our regular meeting June 19, 2016 at 9:30 AM. I would also like to thank out going officers Steve O’Donnell and Patricia Stewart for all their hard work over the previous years and future support. I would also like to thank everyone for helping at the May clover drive we did at the Avon Wal-Mart, it is a lot of work but funds our veteran programs. The Memorial Day Parade was also a big success and I would like to thank all that provided vehicles and participated in the parade. Commander Paul Chute MEMORIAL DAY During the parade we paid our respects to out fallen soldiers. We were represented at the parade by five members one from the Army, Navy and Marines and two from the Air Force. BIG HAND GOES OUT TO OUR COMMANDER FOR A GREAT JOB OF RUNNING THE PARADE ON MEMORIAL DAY. Everything went off great and even the rain held off until later in the day!!! Bob Cotone if looking for three people to ride in the Randolph Parade the night before JULY 4th. Please see Bob at the upcoming meeting. This will be the last newsletter until Sept. We will have a reminder come out prior to the next meeting. Just a reminder we will be having our Dinner/Dance in Sept.
