Powerless staff are ineffective staff
Powerless staff are less satisfied with their jobs and more susceptible to burnout and depersonalization
Lack of staff power may also contribute to unfavorable patient outcomes.
What is empower? To authorize, especially by legal or official means To enable or permit To promote self-actualization
What is Empowerment? The management practice of sharing information, rewards, and power with employees so that they can take initiative and make decisions to solve problems and improve service and performance.
What is the basis of empowerment? Empowerment is based on the idea that giving employees skills, resources, authority, opportunity, motivation, as well holding them responsible and accountable for outcomes of their actions, will contribute to their competence and satisfaction.
