What is a GPA? A GPA is your grade point average It is the average of all the grades you’ve earned divided by the number of classes. A = 4 B = 3 C = 2 D = 1 U = 0 What is a GPA?

What is a GPA? She added up all the numbers to get 19. Sally got two As, two Bs, two Cs, and a D. A  4, A  4, B  3, B  3, C  2, C  2, D  1 She added up all the numbers to get 19. 4 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 19 Then, she divided 19 by seven (7) because she had seven classes. 19 ÷ 7 = 2.71 Sally’s GPA is 2.71. What is a GPA?

Did it surprise you that Sally’s GPA was not higher? Even though her grades were mostly high, her D brought her GPA down. If her D turned into a B, her GPA would become a 3.0. Pause and Reflect
