Color 10.5 How do we see colors? White light is made of many colors- ROYGBIV Objects absorb the colors of light the object doesn’t contain, and reflects the color of the object. This happens because of the wave frequency. EX) A red apple absorbs OYGBIV light waves and reflects R. The apple is not red, but we see the reflected red light. A green water bottle absorbs ROYBIV light waves and reflects G White objects reflect all light waves Black objects absorb all light waves

Visible light

1. What happens with light waves if we are looking at a red apple?

Magic School Bus What happened when the white light hit the prism? How does the green light find its way into the eye?  Why did the orange light get absorbed? How does the yellow and blue light make it to their eyes?
