Statistically speaking, the properties of the sample distribution are used to infer the properties of the population (lot) distribution. Acceptance Sampling Webinar Stratified Sampling Random samples are selected from a “homogeneous lot”. Often, the parts may not be homogeneous because they were produced on different machines, by different operators, in different plants, etc. With stratified sampling, random samples are drawn from each “group” of processes that are different from other groups.
