Agenda Instructions VLT #1: Day 1

As you Enter… Please take out something to write with: A pen or pencil if you’re planning on typing your essay. A pen ONLY and 1 – 3 sheets of paper if you plan on writing your essay. Get you Performance Assessment booklets Everything else goes up front, such as: Cell Phones Earbuds/headphones Book bags, purses, etc. If I see anyone at any time with a cell phone, I’ll score your paper a ‘0’ and you will not be able to retake it.

Computers If you would like to type your essay, please grab a computer (when instructed), and bring it up to my desk so that I can sign it out to you for the period. You will be expected to type your essay in Microsoft Word: Save your essay under the “Documents” section, and title your essay as: Last Name_First Name_Period #_VLT1 When you have finished your essay, email it to me at MrBurnsideEnglish@gmail.com

VLT 1: Day 1 Today you will have the period to plan and write an argumentative VLT. Please do not forget what an essay needs to have in it for it to be an argumentative essay!! Don’t forget to include rhetoric! You may not talk, discuss, ask, or annoy another student during this writing process. Performance Assessment booklets: Pg. 106 – 112 Source 1 (Article) – pg. 107 Source 2 (Article) – pg. 108 – 110 You DO NOT have to complete the questions on pg. 111 The writing prompt and instructions can be found on pg. 112
