Principles of Management: MGMT303 Week 4 Group Tutoring Session

Organization Organization - A deliberate arrangement of people assembled to accomplish some specific purpose (that individuals independently could not accomplish alone). Common Characteristics of Organizations Have a distinct purpose (goal) Are composed of people Have a deliberate structure

Week 4 assignment: SWOT Organizational Design and change The final section of your Company's SWOT analysis is the most important. This is where you develop the strategic action for managements. Please ensure your recommendations are Specific Measurable Achievable Relevant and Time-bound (S.M.A.R.T.) Leverage strengths –How does and can the organization leverage/utilize their strengths Minimize Weaknesses- How can management minimize the weaknesses. Capitalize on Opportunities-How can capitalization opportunities occur within the external environment. Neutralize Threats- How can the organization neutralize the threats that are occurring form the within the external environment. APA Style is used, including in-text citations and courses listed on a references page. Check specifically to see how many references your instructor requires outside of the textbook.

Mid-Term Review Here is some information about the Midterm. This Midterm covers TCO(s) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7; Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and Appendix: Entrepreneurial Ventures. This Midterm is worth 140 total points, which include the following questions: 6 multiple choice questions at 5 points each; 5 short answer questions at 10 points each; and 4 essay questions at 15 points each. You have 2 hours and 30 minutes to finish the Midterm. When the time limit is reached, you will automatically be exited from the exam. By submitting this work, I am attesting that it abides by the Student Honor Code. Unless something different from your instructor

Review Points Have a strong understanding of how each element of the sWOT applies to organizations Decisions. Understanding how sociocultural, technological, economic, and political/legal is significant and the role they play. What are the core values that organizations should and should not adopt. Understanding different types of attitudes that leaders should use to make the best approaches such as Monolingualism, Parochialism, ethnocentric Attitude, Geocentric Attitude. Understand the differences of a strategic goal, an operational plan, a mission statement, and strategic plan Mintzberg study Its relevance to organizational structures Social Responsibility and its relation to corporate responsibility Finances – What is equity Financing and different types of financial resources. Stakeholders and Stockholders what differentiates them? Be able to define and recognize the three major roles of entrepreneurship in the U.S. What are three environmental Challenges of International Management?
