Hunger vs. Appetite What is the difference between hunger and appetite? Hunger – a feeling created by the physical need for food. Appetite – a learned behavior created by a psychological desire for certain food items.

Hunger vs. Appetite Which of these two concepts – hunger or appetite - do advertisements appeal to? Advertisements create an appetite for the featured food item. They create a psychological desire rather than an actual need.

Nutrition and Advertising You will be creating posters depicting common nutrition-related advertising influences and themes. Your group may choose any advertising theme you can think of. You can use the magazines I’ve provided to find food advertisements for ideas. When finished, you will present your posters to the class.

Nutrition and Advertising Your billboard advertisement should include: A common advertising theme A clearly defined food item which you are advertising A minimum of one illustration Your presentation should include: An explanation of your advertising theme Why you believe your advertising theme is effective The age group or demographic to which your theme appeals and why.
