Presentation transcript:

Protocol I A prospective observational study to detect cellular immune function in gastro-intestinal mucosal tissues and peripheral blood This study will help to assess HIV specific responses and reference ranges for immune function in the lower gastro-intestinal mucosa in a Kenyan cohort compared with a similar patient population in London. Kenyan researchers will help to develop and refine techniques to measure mucosal responses, thus improving our understanding of the role of intestinal mucosa in HIV control.
